Create a Custom Event for Quality Visitors

Create a custom event that fires when someone scrolls and spends extra time on your website.

Previously, I showed you how to create an event in Google Tag Manager that fires when someone spends 60 seconds on a page of your website.

Then I showed you how to create an event that fires when someone scrolls 70% down a page.

But there's a problem with both of these things individually. You might spend 60 seconds at the top of a page and never scroll. Or you may scroll the entire page really quickly and immediately leave.

This event combines those two actions. For it to fire, someone must perform them both. This is a really good indication of a quality visit.

Use this for reporting, optimization, and targeting. Try it out!
