How to Create a Pixel Facebook Event Based on Button Click

Here's a simple way to create a pixel event based on a button click.

I use the Pixel Event Setup Tool for this. In this example, I'm creating an Initiate Checkout event when someone clicks on a button that opens a payment form.

The reason for this is that the form is on Keap, so my pixel isn't on that opened page. I lose all tracking. The way around this is to create an event based on the click.

By doing this, I get deeper reporting. I can see how many people clicked my ad, how many opened the form, and how many ultimately purchased.

You can also use this event for remarketing. So, you can target those who initiated checkout but didn't purchase.

You shouldn't need to create initiate checkout events in this way if you're using a platform like Shopify or Woocommerce. They should instead generate these events for you.
