One of the biggest challenges for me getting into short-form video has been the little things, like lighting. I got some new lights!
Until now, I've been using the same lights for several years. Those lights worked fine, but I was rigging something that wasn't supposed to be used for this purpose. And they were an eyesore.
I am now using the Neewer 90W Desk Mount LED Lights. You can adjust warmth and brightness from the units themselves or from a remote.
It took me a few videos to get the lighting right, but I think I've got it now. They are pretty darn bright, so I moved my fill light a little further back at the lowest brightness setting.
Being desk-mounted really helps. They take up less space. I even got rid of one of my monitors, and I feel like my new space is so much cleaner and easier to use.
It's been a lot of trial and error since I started this journey back in October. Slowly, I'm building a setup. Next, I'm planning on adding an RGB light to the back to add a splash of color.
I'm no expert on this stuff, of course, but I thought you may be curious about what I'm doing.
